Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence

By Linda on May 2, 2022

Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence

You can have all the education and the best experience in the world and lack the confidence you need for ultimate success. So let’s look at how to Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence.

Confidence is a catalyst which can make a real difference in the scope of your life and propel you to a greatness you wouldn’t have without it.

But before we continue with Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence…

Rather want to watch the video?

If you would rather watch this post on video, here you go…

Or listen to Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence

If you would like to follow along or listen to this post while you’re busy with something else, here is the audio for you:

Let’s continue with Never Underestimate the Power of Confidence…

With confidence, you can turn the impossible into the possible – create success where others might give up. While you can gain confidence from education and experience, the confidence must come from inside and you must project it in a way that others find inspiring.

Confidence provides the power you need to step into unknown situations – unafraid and determined to succeed. Leaving behind the secure and the known in your life may take incredible confidence. Without it, you may become stuck in a milk-toast type of life and never get out of a rut or a career that’s going nowhere.

If you do lack confidence, it may not be obvious to you until you get real with yourself. If you procrastinate or feel overwhelmed much of the time, it may be very difficult to turn the tides unless you do address your confidence issues. It’s difficult for you to take action to get out of ruts and bad situations because you feel you can’t do it right or you need to learn more.

Confidence can also help your decision-making skills. You may be hesitant to make decisions about even the smallest of issues because you lack confidence in your own abilities to succeed. You may become paralyzed with indecision and become isolated and withdrawn. Second-guessing yourself only makes it worse.

Sometimes you just need to behave as if you’re confident and use that power to take action rather than simply waiting for something to happen to cement an idea or solve a problem. At least be confident in your determination to work on your goals. That determination will spur you on to take the action(s) you need to succeed.

Soon, confidence can become a habit in your life – a good habit that you’ll welcome and want to cultivate. That ingrained habit will help you leave your comfort zone and take chances. Even if you fail, you’ll learn from the mistakes you make and have the resolve to go on to try the next idea or level of success.

Confidence provides the power you need to commit and work toward goals and know that your efforts are going to succeed in the long run. Not only does that increase your chances of succeeding – it also creates a sense of satisfaction in your mind.

Confidence Versus Aggressiveness

By Linda on April 20, 2022

confidence vs aggressiveness

It’s difficult for some of us to draw the line between confidence and aggressiveness – especially when attempting to get ahead at work or to achieve a big win in a competition. But where do we draw the line between confidence versus aggressiveness? In this post, we’ll cover some examples.

Rather want to watch Confidence versus Aggressiveness on video?

Before we continue, if you would rather watch this post on video, here it is…

Or want to listen to Confidence versus Aggressiveness?

If you would like to listen to this article while you continue with something else, or read along, here is the audio version for you.

Now, let’s move on to Confidence versus Aggressiveness…

Developing an innate sense of sensitivity toward others is one way to keep from stepping over the confidence line and into the aggressiveness arena.

When you express your views and ideas confidently, others admire your stand – but if you take an aggressive stance using threats or others “weapons” of convincing, others will shy away from you and you’ll never convince them of anything – even though it might be the best idea in the world.

We like to make our own decisions based on the information presented in a calm and factual manner rather than dealing with commands or others methods of aggressiveness.

Many times, you may think you’re only being assertive when you actually crossed the line to aggressiveness – and it could be an accident.

But, getting your aggressiveness under control is a big step toward projecting the confident person you want to be.

The mindset you must develop to turn around aggressive tendencies is one which advocates you to have respect for others rather than crushing the opposition (or those who disagree with you) to win. When you help others win, you become a winner also because of the respect and admiration you garner.

Here are a few differences between an aggressive and a confident demeanor:

😧Aggressive: Glaring looks and looking away.
😀Confident: Making eye contact and paying attention to the other person.

😧Aggressive: No flexibility.
😀Confident: Know and express your own views, but considerate of others.

😧Aggressive: Feels and acts superior to others.
😀Confident: Knows your own values and equal to others.

😧Aggressive: Controls others – becomes a control freak when managing others.
😀Confident: Listens to others and helps them achieve goals.

😧Aggressive: Uses body language to intimidate and bully others.
😀Confident: Knows how to present yourself as a confident person through positive body language.

😧Aggressive: Reaches goals by intimidation of others.
😀Confident: Reaches goals by determination and recognizes help from others.

Conclusion to Confidence versus Aggressiveness

A confident person is polite, but firm, when standing up for his values and beliefs and never tramples others to achieve success.

If you consider yourself an aggressive person, be patient with yourself, but get in touch with your sensitivity to others’ feelings and needs.

Build Confidence with Competence

Build Confidence with Competence

Confidence and competence are crucial to ultimate success no matter what your endeavor is. The more competence you have in a given career, sport or personal goal, the more confident you’ll become that you can complete the task giving it all you’ve got – mentally and physically. Learn more in this post how you can Build Confidence with Competence.

You can also listen to Build Confidence with Competence

I have the audio of the video for you as well below if you want to continue with something else while listening to this post.

Quick warning, there is a meditation inside this audio.

Let’s go over to how you too can Build Confidence with Competence

Competence means that you have unwavering belief in yourself to meet and complete any challenge. Your competence comes from the understanding, knowledge and willingness to perform whatever is needed to become successful in a chosen field.

Confidence is more of a state of mind that you have the ability to go forward with a goal or task.

With competence added to the mix, you’ll be able to present an image to others that you’re strong and have the qualities needed to undertake a task.

The two traits, confidence and competence, are powerful components in your life and with them, you can achieve beyond your wildest dreams.

Those who are confident in their abilities feel competent to seek more challenges, push themselves to new heights, even though they’ve already succeeded.

Perform Goals With Enthusiasm To Succeed

Most people who are confident and competent enter each challenge and set and perform goals with much enthusiasm and determination to succeed. They don’t dwell on failures and mistakes, but turn them into learning experiences which spur them on to bigger and better things. Challenges become opportunities and obstacles become challenges.

You Can’t Fake Confidence

Confidence is something that’s difficult to fake. It must be gained from the learning process which makes you confident in your abilities – and that is competence.

Competence is also derived from seeking knowledge and putting into action certain goals, organization and preparation that will lead you toward completing a goal or competition.

Set Goals

It’s important to set goals that, step-by-step, lead you to a competence you feel and a confidence you exude. Be sure you learn how to set goals and follow the steps needed to get there.

The more goals you set and the better you become at the tasks, the more competent you’ll feel to go on to bigger and better things.

Develop Confidence That Comes From Competence

When you develop confidence that comes from competence that was learned and practiced, you’ll become the person who instills trust in others.

Confidence communicates with others by the role model you create for yourself. When others see that image, they’re either put-off, intimidated or encouraged by what they experience. You communicate the image you’ve derived from the confidence you’ve created and that ability can help you soar to success.

Can You Be Too Confident?

By Linda on March 25, 2022

Can You Be Too Confident?

Confidence can make you feel good about yourself – “able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.” But, can too much confident make you arrogant? While confidence is becoming, arrogance can undermine what you’re striving to achieve. A bit of humility can go a long way to increase your attractiveness and make your true confidence stand out. Let’s take a look at Can You Be Too Confident?

Sometimes the line between confidence and arrogance becomes blurred. Before you do more damage to your reputation than good, there are some things you should ask yourself about you may come across to others. We’re going to take a look at some of them in this post.

Would you like to listen to Can You Be Too Confident?… While you go on with something else?

Whether you would like to follow along or listen to the audio while going on with something else, I’ve got you covered.

Please note there is a meditation inside the audio:

Let’s continue with Can You Be Too Confident?

Let’s take a look at the things you should ask yourself about you may come across to others.

Do you make eye contact?

If you avoid making eye contact with others, you could project the image of being interested in only yourself. Confident people make eye contact and are interested unequivocally in the conversation taking place.

Are you always late?

Being consistently late indicates a lack of respect for others. Your time isn’t more important than everyone else’s. If you’re a confident person, you’re on time or apologize when you run into a snag.

Do you bully others by being condescending?

Calling others “stupid,” and downplaying their successes doesn’t make you look confident – it makes you look like a bully. Eventually, you’ll lose all respect from others.

Do you “one-up” others during conversations?

Trying to show your superiority over others by one-upping is actually a turn-off to others. You don’t look more superior – you look desperate for attention.

Do you blame others for your mistakes?

If you’re arrogant, you don’t like to “lose,” and will blame others rather than take the fall for your own mistakes.

Are you a “name-dropper?”

Confident leaders don’t brag endlessly about whom they know or met or are friends with. It’s perfectly okay at times to bring your famous friend into the mix of conversation, but consistently dropping names makes you seem fake.

Do you know the answer to “everything?”

Arrogant people will invent an answer to a question or problem rather than admitting to not knowing. The confident person will admit he or she doesn’t know the answer, but will vow to find a solution.

Do you truly listen to others?

Some people interrupt others because they’re only concerned about what they want to say and push others into the background. They don’t listen and they always look around the room for someone else to talk to.

Conclusion to Can You Be Too Confident?

The fine line between confidence and arrogance can be difficult to maneuver – especially if you’re overly confident. Monitor your actions and words and remember that when you’re confident, you’re an inspiration to others. If you’re arrogant, others are repulsed and turned-off by your words and actions.

5 Tips to Achieving Success with Confidence

Achieving success can make you a more confident person, but it’s difficult to reach the level of success you desire without confidence. Confidence is the catalyst to overcoming doubts and fears and can help you through the worst obstacles you’ll encounter on the road to success. Here are some sure-fire tips to help you get the confidence you need to climb the success ladder in this post with 5 Tips to Achieving Success with Confidence :

Want to listen to the audio of 5 Tips to Achieving Success with Confidence?

Here is the audio of 5 Tips to Achieving Success with Confidence if you want to listen to this article while you’re busy with something else. Please remember if you’re driving there is a meditation inside too.

Let’s go over to 5 Tips to Achieving Success with Confidence

Be true to yourself.

Your values and belief system must be firmly in place if you want to achieve a success you can be proud of and to ensure you like yourself when you do reach the top of the ladder.
If you achieve success in ways which compromise who you truly are, you won’t be able to enjoy your achievements. It will be a success built on sand rather than solid ground and may crumble and fall with time.

Trust in your abilities.

You may have much to learn before you can succeed in a chosen field or path. Think of all that you’ve achieved so far and obstacles you’ve already overcome and trust that you can do more.
Don’t dismiss what you’ve learned so far in life. You might think it was easy and that anyone could do it, but others may see it as remarkable and look up to you for it.

Use your subconscious mind.

Repeating positive affirmations and shooing negative thoughts away builds strength for your subconscious mind – a powerful ally in your quest for success.
Your subconscious mind, when trained to do your bidding can make a real difference in how you and others see yourself. It can also be a detriment if you let negative thoughts permeate and gain control – making you doubt your true abilities.

Use correct body language.

Watch your posture, stance and control of your body language. It can be powerful when dealing with others and expecting a great outcome. Sitting up straight (as your mother used to tell you) can send a far different and more positive message than slumping.
Study body language and begin to practice it. When you enter a room with your head held high and walking like you own where you are and how you present yourself, people will take notice in a positive way.

Pay attention to your personal look.

When you present yourself as unkempt and looking wrinkled and ungroomed, the image isn’t one that reaps success.
If this is an area of your life where you lack skills, seek the help of others and develop a style you’re comfortable with and which fits the image you want to present.
